Most underrated TV series?

I have my share of shows on my DVR, but if we are just talking underrated...

"Life" on NBC is really good. Better then most cop shows, has some humor, and Sarah Shahi is amazing to boot...




Also, I think a lot of people wrote off "Life on Mars" because the premise seemed so stupid (guy gets hit by a car and wakes up in 1973), but the show itself I think is really great. O'Mara is good in the lead, Keitel and Imperioli are always awesome, and Gretchen Mol isn't terrible on the eyes either.

I thought we said underrated? Essentially all of these shows on this list are critically acclaimed or high rated in their time slot. Honestly, I am hard pressed to think of anything right now on TV that fits the parameters of the question.

The shield was not it was on FX, and most people that you would ask about it wouldn't have a clue.

The Unit was slotted 9pm Sundays and would get bumped due to football games running over... They would air Cold Case and bump the unit.

Alot of people don't like deadliest catch either they say its boring...

Nip/Tuck, best show on television a few years ago. Every episode was packed with sex, freakiness, and drama. The Closer is good if you know when it comes on.

Okay, first of all the Wire was not underrated at all. It got boffo reviews and did VERY well on HBO. You want underrated "Friday Night Lights" is the CONSUMMATE show to be considered underrated. It has been on NBC, went to Direct TV for a season, and now they are showing that season on NBC. Nobody watches it, yet every episode rocks!!! Shows like Lost, The Wire, and yes The Shield are not underrated. the Shield did GREAT numbers for the channel it was on, and got great reviews.
