Baseball was a older generation sit on your ass sport. The players have 1/4 of talent basketball players have and it's seen more as a leisure sport then anything. The youth likes consistent up and down action with athleticism. It's a slight 3rd behind the NBA for that reason and the others listed.

Totally agree on baseball and how wagering influences my love of a sport..been on these boards like you nicky for a long time and I have never and I mean never seen a guy do well at baseball year in and year out.even tomorrows newspaper at the rx had some troubles this year and quit for awhile .

Baseball takes some unreal discipline and constant money management and value plays and this is one sport where one player ,the pitcher,literally controls your fate.The best team in baseball can lose to the worst,because a pitcher is off that day.

The best team ,the yankees,whoever,will still lose 60 games a year. with the juice you are laying every game,its really tough.

People in baseball forums always say bookies hate baseball because they get beat,I doubt that.probably because the action is so limited.

Of course, that's just an opinion and not a fact, you do understand that, right? And one fact is that since about 1998 or so, MLB's revenues worldwide have grown faster than either the NFL's or the NBA's, and MLB's total earning in 2007 were right there with the NFL's bottom line. While a lot of the sheep out there just following along with and hanging on every word they hear on ESPN have been distracted by the steriod story, the MLB owners have been earning money hand over fist.
