I personally don't think it will be too relevant.

In all seriousness I dont think a tragedy like that is enough to swing the balance in a playoff series.

Think this will be the only first round series worth watching in the East though.

Yes they are. If they win they can get homecourt if the Clippers lose in Sacramento (that's supposing the Clippers beat Portland tomorrow, if Portland somehow wins that game, Grizzlies will actually be playing to clinch homecourt). Clippers game will be later so they won't have any score updates. And yes it is unlikely the Clips lose there but it's an emotional game for Kings and they've proven capable of a few upsets. Anywho they have to win to give themselves a shot.

That said, Memphis did play their bench a lot today. Provided it was because they were very productive, interesting to see how many minutes Hollins gives Z-Bo, Gasol, and Conley on Wednesday. Each played about 20-25 today.

west is wide open OKC will struggle on the road and it is clear they miss harden. they haven't looked anywhere close to last season and I don't think it would be that big of a suprise if they were out by the 2nd round as their are teams that will cause them matchup problems. Spurs getting older and I'm not sure if they can make another run. Clippers relying heavily on Paul and when you have 2 players that are horrible free throw shooters it will cost you games in the playoffs. the fact that jordan is shooting below 40% from the line is beyond ridiculous. He will not get many minutes late in games.

with all this in mind either denver or memphis winning the west is highly possible.

Houston against the Spurs, if it happens, is starting to look like it could really be a dandy. If the Spurs are not the hot team in that series, and assuming the refs will keep going for harden's flops, the Rockets will at least have a chance, no doubt.
