I actually knew Brian back in the 80's haven't seen him in almost 15 yrs, he has kids (almost adults now) and runs a business and hasn't gambled since 1982.

I love Leaving Las Vegas. Some great quotes and about as depressing as it gets.

I saw Owning Mahoney about 3 years ago after a night of gambling. I do not know if it was that I just got back from a casino and my mind was still fresh from the sights and sounds of the place or if the movie was THAT good. Philip Seymour Hoffman gave a great performance (as usual) and the movie had a gritty feeling that movies like "21" and "Two For The Money" could never come close to duplicating. If you are a casino player, you will be in awe of this "based on a true story" movie. Even if you are a sports gambler, the movie will resonate. Very well done, Very well acted, Very good movie. *** 1/2 stars out of 4.
