SBR is a constant shuffling in and out of mid twenties to early 30s guys who haven't found their way or settled down yet. They sign up, post for a few years, make friends, and disappear. This will likely be the case with me as well though I've been around since '07, I was quiet for a good 2.5 years. I'd say this kind of poster makes up 75% of the board...the rest are SBR lifers. Though I agree, these boards do suck lately.

Rogue, you may know more about zeta than I but I cannot figure out your stance against him. He comes across as completely transparent and vulnerable. Two qualities I know for a fact you advocate. He possess both and I still see you getting on him quite a bit.

i appreciate zeta, whether I agree with his choices or not, he seems real. I've personally never seen any inconcistencies in his posting style or videos or even other people's videos with him in them. He's always the same guy.

Kraker, you're spot on with Zeta inasmuch as you've interacted with him (at least that I'm aware of, I still think you're full of shit about showing up as Capdatass with zero previous time spent on SBR, but that's another matter entirely). I've seen him do his thing almost from the beginning, and there are a few more consistencies in Zeta's style that inherently rub me the wrong way. Zeta doesn't like to figure anything out on his own, he'd rather just pester people who know what they're doing until he finds one to hold his hand.

A perfect example of this was when he first got serious about bonus whoring and was learning to use the Pinny dynamic lines in conjunction with SportsOptions. He didn't even try to figure a single thing out for himself, he preferred to ask incessant stupid questions (I know as an educator I shouldn't believe in stupid questions, but Zeta makes that extraordinarily hard) to anybody that was in SBRChat until someone finally answered just to shut him up. The point where I could no longer overlook it was when he was whining about not being able to get the Pinnacle site to display American odds instead of decimal style. Now for the 11 years I've been using Pinnacle, the drop-down menu for odds style has always been in the upper-left corner of every page on the site. When someone isn't even willing to look for the super-simple answers for themselves, it's pretty much a given that I'm not going to join their fan club.

There's other stuff relating to a complete lack of scruples and an ever-present willingness to be the butt of any joke just for attention, but those came after he used up all his stupid question passes with me within the first week of meeting me. I don't wish him ill-will, but I'm not going to pretend to find him enjoyable either.

Very astute observations, Tevari. One point I'd like to add is that any forum quickly becomes stale and insular as the ratio of casual posters to obsessed "lifer" posters falls further out of balance. I'd love nothing more than to see one of SBR's priorities become the expulsion of anybody with more than 15k posts, even though I have a couple friends in that crowd myself. Few things are more tiresome than seeing the same stupid jokes retold endlessly in the pursuit of cheap laughs. To see people with join dates in the last couple months instantly rehashing forum history from five years ago just insults everyone's intelligence, in a much more distasteful way than the stupidity of SBR's employees ever did. The problem is that SBR has been catering to the lifers for so long now that they'd kill the forum to send all the ghosts and retreads packing at this late juncture.

I think the boards suck now too, and I ceased my habit of skimming PT and the Saloon daily several months ago because it just felt like the only people left posting regularly were the "proud losers," as I like to call them. In small doses those people can be a riot, but when they become the majority it just feels pathetic to waste even 3 minutes reading a thread here.
