William Hill betting shops are not as sophisticated as Ladrbokes (yet, they have a machine where I could place a bet for shittier odds, look at the times I placed these bets, the last one was with William Hill machine around 9pm UK time) ... so if you bet with them you gotta write down the bet on a slip and then they make a copy of the original and give it to you and keep the original in their shop as a proof of that bet being placed, they also got cameras all over the place in case you wanna try cheating and such.

I used to manage a betting shop in late 90s and it was great as 2 horse racing meets and 2 greyhound meets in the afternoon and the same at night. No virtual games just one slot machine in the shop and rapido I used to love it with a passion. I don't envy anyone working there now, something happening every 2 mins would drive me crazy settling virtual bets. No time for a break at all.

I just got back from the UK, and the amount of betting shops was shocking. On one street in Swindon that we went to frequently (because of the pubs and shopping), I counted 4 betting shops, and it was seemingly normal for people to go into them.

It's just strange that betting on sports is illegal in the majority of the states, when we originate from the same culture that openly allows it.
