    "Picks" on front page
Love seeing picks right next to each other recommending the exact opposite plays AND done with no analysis.

What is the point of putting these plays on the front page that are basically 1 sentence long that say make this play?

Looks like an advertising grab at best... hopefully I am wrong but.. really..

    That analysis is pretty crappy.

If you click on the "more" button I think you'll find that most of the free picks do come with some analysis. I'm not sure I would qualify the analysis as earthshaking but after all they are free picks.

Perhaps the idea is to find someone you like and run with him to see if he can make you some money. I certainly don't mind seeing the different angles, and two opposing picks can be quite helpful in making your own personal selection.

I didn't see what he picked. All he mention was 2 years old news about how cleveland almost caught up to Wsox.

So what was his doggy of the day?

It wasn't a 'doggy of the day.' There were five teams listed --- Atlanta, Cleveland, Houston, Milwaukee and Seattle --- who may or may not be dogs (based on their play up to now) to follow the rest of the way.

You don't see any of that?

Does this whole thing bother anyone else? I mean, that's now all over the front page, the baseball forum is cluttered with free pick threads from touts ... I don't particularly like the direction the forum is headed.

Same feeling from me. I understand it's probably a better way for SBR to make money, and if that's what's necessary to keep the watchdog portion SBR operating at maximum effeciency, then I guess it's well worth it.

It does give the whole forum site a MUCH more commercial feel, though, and I don't think that's a good thing. Free picks or not, all of those tout threads in the bases section seem clearly promotional to me. Shouldn't they be in the promo section if they begin with a link to a commercial tout service?

Perhaps the picks could be left on the front page and not copied and pasted all over the bases section.

I’d prefer the tout material not be there.

If all those other threads can be in the baseball forum, why can't this one?

It is basically the same thing, except the information is much more helpful, in my opinion.

I dont have a problem with the picks being in the front page since I pretty much skip that anyway and jump right into the forum.
The only use that I could see for the threads, lets say inside the bases forum would be if we could use every single one of them as a cappings and discussions thread for each game...
I would be more interested in what guys from the forum have to say about each game than what this so called experts say.
But if this threads and this free picks create more discussions about each game... even if its to say things like this guy is full of sh##, then it might be good imo!!!
Gotta say it does look crowded though.
