There was no chance of that happening Dan.

It was either the Rangers (not enough room under the salary cap) or Vancouver.

He will help the Canucks a bit but I don't think he will have that much impact.

His heart was with the Leafs and now he's 37 yrs old and not in shape.

I agree, I really dont like this move by the Nucks, Sundin is washed up. I doubt he will make a significant improvement to this team, and at $10 million, I would say he got the best out of this deal.

But who knows, this move could the Canucks the "physcological edge" in terms of Cup contention.

No sir... I just wanted the Leafs to have as much firepower as they possible could in order to beat Montreal every time they play each other.

If you think Sundin will have barely any impact you are either a bias french person (most likely) or you are still bitter he didn't sign with your team and your years of having Sundin score on the Habs have made you hate him. Sundin is a true leader and a game-breaker which we haven't had since Pavel Bure played. The Canucks are serious cup-contenders now.

You are a Canucks fan aren't you unit? If you are I have no idea how you can't like this move. Also he would be getting 5.5 million max, since the season is half over. Also on top of that, Sundin agreed to structure his contract (aka take a pay cut) so the Canucks could save cap space to add some more significant players for a playoff run.

What impact do you expect him to have?

He hasn't played a game yet this season, started training very late and is not a young man anymore.

He never wanted to leave Toronto, he will always be a Leaf in his mind. Vancouver is just an opportunity to earn some cash.

Remember how Messier was supposed to be an impact player for the Canucks at 37yrs old - how well did that go?

Good luck with the Canucks, they have one of the best (if not the best goaltender) in the league, other than Luongo they don't look much like a contender to me.

Sundin is gonna kill it. I'll give him 20 goals 50 pts for the rest of the season.

The Nucks are definitely a contender, with or without Sundin. This team plays gritty, they have scoring from multiple sources and play solid D. With Luongo in, teams have trouble scoring on us.

I think Sundin will help, but for the amount hes being paid, I dont think there is value in this move.

I didnt even expect the Nucks to make the playoffs this year, so Im already satisfied

I'm bump this in four months if I have to. Remember when lemeuix came back and went about a point and a half for the last third of the season with the penguins? Of course you do.

But if you don't, Sundin is about to show you what it was like.

Right, you can bump it if you're correct, I'll bump it if you are wrong.

50 points? On a team he's never played a game with?

Maybe fellow Leaf castoff Kyle Wellwood will win the scoring title this year too!

I heard the weed in BC was good, didn't realize it was THAT good!

It brought him to tears, the trade to Toronto. His only other regret, other than finishing his career in Quebec, was not winning a cup with his true teammates in Colorado.

Is that you Mark Messier? Sure looks like you. Guy still has it, comparing him to Culpepper is a disgrace. Sundin had his best year last year of the last 5 seasons he's played. He is a true leader and will finally free up the Sedins some more from the checking line.
