While this was Bill Self's first ever loss to Michigan, you have to wonder why on earth he was willing to enable Elijah Johnson like that. Leaving aside the fact that the hit to McGary's nuts shoulda been a Flagrant 2 + Ejection, not only does he not bench him for screwing his team for no reason, he lets him come back into the game with 2 fouls and he immediately picks up the 3rd. Its not like Nadir Thaarpe was having a tough time passing to Withey and Ellis who Michigan had ZERO answer for, or that McElmore wasn't playing like the #1 overall pick that he is, or that Releford is much more reliable and less of a head case than Johnson.
Still, as a Michigan fan, I'll take it. Hopefully we'll have an answer for Patric Young and Casey Prather, and that Marquette beats Cuse so we don't have to face their all power forwards and centers lineup.Comment -
