New York people paying tax on soda. Why no revolt?and it going to get far worse!
You just know it's going to envelope us all like an avalanche where there is going to be taxes on everything by January 1st 2010.Just be a good observer and it's easy to see the obvious as to what will be taxed. If you want to buy a dirt bike, snowmobile or off road vehicle,an extra $300 will be levied in taxes in case you get in a crack up and don't have health insurance.Head phones will have a 50 cent tax in case you blow your ear drums out.You name it,it's going to have a tax on it.You have to pay a tax to drive into New York City just to visit the Statue of Liberty for a few hours. Is this Patterson the adulterer governor of New York that got bent out of shape over the Saturday Night5 Live blindness skit well liked? They should have had a skit where he was cheating on his wife with the Planters Peunut girl where he couldn't see who he was cheating on.Liberal Saturday Night Live went too easy on him because he's a minority liberal. The guy wants to charge a tax to fat guys for eating Big Mac's because it's a health risk. Why doesn't he impose a tax on bath houses because it's a risk for people that use them getting AIDS?

Anyone here live in the notorious high tax states like New York,Massachusetts or California that are going to get whooped upon early and often with taxes? What are some of the other taxes coming your way that are downright laughable? You are now going to need a passport for over $100 to visit Canada come january 1st.Carbon green taxes are the next one to be wrought upon us and global warming is a farse. No sun spots, cold weather like we are having now.Lots of sun spots, hot weather!Any kid that had a CB radio in the 70's knows about what sun spots can do.

Anyone bet over in England? What are the taxes on gambling winnings there?

It's getting so bad with taxes and regulations that a guy just wants to become Amish and get out of the system.

because the government we voted into power needs all the money it can get and fighting for a soda tax right now is the last thing you should be worried about.

Its hard to say I'm a liberal AND an avid soda drinker but I think it's a decent idea to tax soda. It is by no means a need and it may help introduce people to other beverages besides the 6-pack of Coca Cola classic they suck down a day.

Regardless BrentCrude is right on point about taxation of everything on the horizon and its ridiculous how we end up getting taxed, on top of being taxed, on top of being taxed, etc.

They'd lose money on me. Bet I haven't had a six-pack of soda in the last six months, and probably longer than that.

Sales of grape drink should also remain safe.

good to see a liberal standing behind the increases in taxes. most liberals claimed before that dems wouldnt increase taxes, now that they are being proven wrong- they should at least stand up for the taxes as being a good thing.

let me guess at least increased taxes dont kill people in iraq

They've gotta pay off the unions that have them in their pockets somehow.

You ain't seen nothing yet with taxes. Just wait till Obama and his environmentalist nuts try to take over the economy through taxation of industries they don't like, and subsidies for things people wouldn't buy otherwise, like tiny electric cars.
