Has anyone been to a sportsbar where they have free internet for betting purposes?
I had a web t.v.unit that I sold in a weekly area swap newspaper for $25 and a bar owner bought it and I suspect it will be used for placing bets. With web t.v.there aren't cookies and a hard drive to inspect like a regular P.C.If I had a bar with satellite t.v.'s hooked up to a ton of games and legal horse racing on TVG and the horse racing network I would have 3 or 4 Web t.v.'s hooked up for customers to use to place bets.

It's not the bar owners responsibility to oversee what the customers do on the internet so I don't see how he could be on the hook for running a bookie joint.Wow,it would be tempting as a bar owner to get hooked up with some generous sportsbooks that give big referals like trips to Vegas,Costa Rica etc.for high volume betting.Even if you gave the comps away in drawings it would all add up to more people at the bar buying more drinks.

Most the bars around here are near a casino. And if your at a bar in a casino, most books have a bar near by.

OK,what if some whacked out socialist lefty using a computer-internet at one of those beatnik joint internet cafes sends a threat to the prez.Should the owner of the cafe be charged with anything?

it's very easy to still info from public computer.

I would never login to any of my book's account using someone's computer but my own.

I think you hit it on the head about not trusting P.C.'s

Yup,with Web t.v.nothing is saved because it doesn't have a memory.Web t.v.in that respect is really good as compared to a P.C.that's records can be recovered long after you thought they were erased.

I know it's common practice for people using public library computers to place bets and I heard nosey narc librarians have gotten people in trouble.

I use my wireless laptop at most of the watering holes I attend.

Have a hugescreen LAPTOP and have instant access to any offshore sportsbook, lines, forums, etc., etc.

I've only seen a few sports bars here in Texas with any kind of internet cafe setup going. Unless their own filters, or their ISP's, prevent accessing those sites, I'm not sure what's to stop someone from using a computer in a bar for that reason. But even if the bar owner knows that is what's going on with their computers, I seriously doubt they would advertise it that way to draw in customers under the present atmosphere.
