Can anyone recommend a good book...
I am looking for a good book on statistical analysis and probability. Something written for novices to the subject.

Someone recommended one of the 'Statistical Analysis with Excel for Dummies' books to me. I am not a huge fan of the Dummies series but at least when you buy one you know what you are getting and they really do start off at the very beginning of a subject.

    Any recommendations?

What kind of "analyses" are you looking for? How mathematically inclined are you? The stuff gets pretty deep and theoretical, but if you've got the time, brain, and patience, I can recommend a few of my college texts (sounds fun, huh?) that delve into various forms of statistical analysis. Don't worry, several of them are easy to read and understand, it's actually quite logical (go figure, math is logical!) Lastly, where are you from?? I can recommend one of my profs who can answer any and all of your questions about this.

Essentially, analyzing probability isn't figuring out how often something's going to happen...it's more of how much what actually does happen differs from what's expected i.e. analysis of variance.
