Umm... they're the number 1 team in the Western conference with a 21-3 record. They're 14-1 at home and a very respectable 7-2 on the road. Now, I figure they're going to have home court in the first round.

So, if you're making book on the Lakers losing in the first round...I'd like to get down a sizeable wager.

I could see this happening only under a very finite set of circumstances. First would be an injury to Odom or Bynum, leaving a hole in the frontcourt. Second would be a first round matchup with Portland, who has the deepest bench in the West and may be able to stop the Lakers in L.A. with precision defense and fresh legs. Outside of those two things happening, I think the Lakers go deep, maybe not the NBA Finals, but certainly the Western Conf. finals.
