They never really had a chance to cover late. It shouldn't have even been by the hook.

I agree with the first part. Not the rest. Valpo came out nervous and shaky. If they shot the ball like they did all year early, it would have been a single digit game down the stretch.

That's a big IF. Valpo's only hope was the three-point shot and Michigan St is one of the best in the country at defending the three. It's a little tougher to have a good shooting day when Mich St is all up in your face as opposed to Cleveland State or some other slow team from the Horizon League.
