This actually should be a pretty competitive tournament depending on which teams get up for the experience. I'm not sure how much I would trust Kentucky to do much since they've had issues all season with motivation.

The National Invitation Tournament (NIT) begins Tuesday, with top-seeded Kentucky being forced to travel to Pittsburgh for its game against Robert Morris (Rupp Arena is in use for the NCAA Tournament).
and it is called the kentucky bracket that theyre in
maryland and tennessee arent even one seeds and people think they should be in the tourney

one of the coolest sporting events id been to....even if that team let us down by not getting into the tourney
thought the program might be turning the corner at that point under horne

No way man, so was I! Got hammered before with a few friends and we scalped tickets off the street because I forgot to claim the student tickets
Had to sit up in the nosebleeds but went down to the bottom level right before the final horn to rush the court
Went out and had a great time in 5 points after.....They just kept playing sandstorm in all the bars with USC chants starting up every 5 min
Frank Martin will turn this around but they need a few years to get players in

It's still funny. It always made me shake my head when they referred to them as the defending champs and not making the Big Dance. The defending champs are in the NBA. I wouldn't be surprised to see Dawkins motivate Stanford to do well again. Not exactly the tourney you want to be a repeat winner of, but there's something to be said for that vs. a team like Kentucky or Baylor that lack proper motivation from their "coach." I actually think Southern Miss will be a tough out in this tournament.

Fade Maryland.... always plays down to their competition.
Plus high seeded NIT teams always lack motivation

Not true about high seeded NIT teams always lacking motivation. Alot of variables come into play, and we generally arent priived to it.
Winning an NIT is a pretty big deal, and big building point for a lot of these major conference programs.

20 of these teams could replace the ones in the "real" tourney, even the at large births.

go ahead and list them
keep crying.....meanwhile no one with any intelligence agrees with you
Say this for the NCAA: When it expanded the tournament to 68 teams, it accomplished at least one thing. It made your argument invalid.Once the province of outrage and disgust, the post-tournament bracket digestion process has become downright serene.

Once the province of outrage and disgust, the post-tournament bracket digestion process has become downright serene. The bubble is soft. It is really, really soft.
The opportunities were there. If your favorite high-major team didn't make the tournament, it's probably because it missed numerous chances for big wins. If your mid-major squad didn't get in, it's probably because its league was bad and it didn't prove anything outside conference play.
It's hard to feel much sympathy for any of these teams. If your team was good, it would have gotten in the field. If it didn't, it wasn't. Simple enough.

Espn "experts", yeah they know it all.
NCAA committee is even a bigger joke, they use the RPI that should tell you everything.
They have hidden agendas too like picking vcu/colorado a few years ago.
La Salle, 21-9, 0-2 vs top 25, #96 SOS
Boise State, 19-10, 1-3 vs top 25, #62 SOS
I could go on, get these fucken NIT teams out of the real tourney. Making a mockery of it.
Meanwhile Virginia is 4-3 vs top 25, that's as many as the "whole" Mountain West Conference, what a fucken joke.

dumb fuk did it occur to you that NO ONE besides cuonzo martin is complaining that their team should have been in and wasnt?
the seeding is off in some cases but go ahead and find me a legit source that thinks a team got snubbed...there isnt one...in fact this guy bitched about how the acc got treated and admitted that virginia didnt have an argument...and tony bennett isnt complaining
It’s hard to argue too much with N.C. State as a No. 8, or Virginia being left out
NIT Tourney biggest joke lets have a tournament too see who the 70th best college basketball team college basketball stinks.

St.Joe's lack of playing defense on the final possession cost me a five teamer tonight. I'm gonna rip the last three hairs off Martelli's head next time I see him.
