Never understood how a team like Mid Tennessee makes the field over a team like Kentucky, who OBVIOUSLY have a better chance at winning games in the tournament.

So if you had to pick 1 team to beat a team like Syracuse (just a random team off the top of my head), you would pick Mid Tennessee State over Kentucky?

We knew this before the field was even announced.

No elite teams, no elite players.

Should make for a very interesting, entertaining few weeks though, as long as you can put up with ugly basketball.

Exactly. Those teams have a better shot at beating bigger-named schools than Middle Tennessee. That's not saying they would have beaten them, but they have a better chance of doing it.

they had more bad losses than mtsu and had a lot less opportunities to do so

its funny that mtsu's rpi is MUCH higher than kentucky and im gonna guess that youve never seen them play

if you took the same credentials and swapped the names of the schools you'd be perfectly fine with the draw

None of the teams that didn't get in have any right to complain.. all had bad losses or marks on their schedule.. and I doubt any of them would win more than a game

not at home and they would go no worse than 3-1 at home against these 4... they handled vandy and ole miss and everyone in their conf... not much more you can do...

But the field got even weaker after they allowed all the NIT teams in.
