Canadian places are named after British/English ones.

Canada was a British colony, near Toronto are places called:

Tottenham, Bolton, London,Cambridge, Wellington etc. etc.

I live near a street called "Albion Rd."

There are many references to "Albion" and "Thistletown" near me.

Lake of the Woods? I was there this summer, well I drove through Kenora, Ontario (near Minnesota/Ontario border) on my way to and from Calgary in July, very beautiful place Kenora.

After watching the video I was disappointed to see such a loss in quality from the original video, plus the weather is cold and grey, very windy today, place is so much nicer in the warm weather.

I could have kept shooting, have an 8GB memory card in the camera, but a 3 minute video is almost 260 mbytes, takes forever to upload to youtube.

my friend has an island in lake of the woods.... dang I mean people own entire islands????/ crazy... but its only like 1.5 acres... if that... but great for fishing and all that good stuff... three years I went up and all the local people that live on the islands put together a 4 on 4 vollebally tourney... and my team played Stu Grimson's team in the final.... dude didn't look like a hockey player, more like a football player.

He was super nice, and a real good looking man...not that I swing that way, but it always amazes me how athletes that you see on tv, often look so much better in real life...

anyways, I guess he also is a devout Christian..how woulda known, and he invited to a church service that his family puts on all summer on one of the islands...people all boat up there for the service....

Right on, Plommer. The naming origin of my little town of Albion dates back to the voyage of Sir Francis Drake in the sixteenth century, in which he declared the land he found from San Francisco to Oregon "New Albion". It was descendants of the original pilgrims that first settled the area and began logging the forests, and since they treasured their English heritage, they drew on Drake's map and the name Albion to name the settlement.
