They're paying out true parlay odds.

Factoring in the push on the -130 bet then at true odds the payout would be $608.98.

Note however, that some books only pay out at true odds if one or more underlying bets are at odds other than -110. If this happens to the be the case where you placed this bet then you'd need to check out their fixed odds payouts on 5-team parlays. This is frequently (but not always) +2200, which would imply a payout of only $550.

At what book did you place this bet?

In general if you find yourself hedging plain vanilla parlays then that means you shouldn't have been betting those parlays in the first place.

But yes, if the amount you stand to win does represent a significant amount of money to you then you almost certainly should hedge.

But learn from this mistake -- if you're just going to wind up hedging and paying even more than the 23.90% juice you initially paid (although it's actually a bit less than that after taking into the account the possibility of pushes) then just bet smaller parlays.

As I've said in the past, the first step to managing your losses with sportsbooks is not allowing them to madly rummage through you wallet for extra bills.

                          no

but I liked Cleveland more than some of the picks that won today. I rank the teams every week in my confidence rating after picking all the spreads. Browns +14 was my 4 (behind Texans +3, Chiefs +6, and Panthers -7.5).

It just scares me that its up to Browns +16. I dont have very much money on my bookmaker account anymore. I lost it all on Skins ML, Pats ML teaser haha. I have 600 on bodog and 400 on betphoenix and 25 (although I have open bets) on bookmaker. I dont really want to deposit just to hedge that seems dumb. I have no money invested on any of these books (I w/d it after doublin it on bodog and bookmaker) and on betphoenix I won a free thanksgiving 3 team parlay.

i like my play and I think I will win but I dont want to make a stupid decision thats why I was looking for others thoughts....I was going to bet 25 on eagles -14 but its now -16 and i would be ****ing pissed if i got middled. Not sure but leaning towards letting this ride.

and for the record $608.98 is what it should pay out, i based this on a 25$ parlay that I set up just to see the pay out on a 5 teamer on bookmaker with all -110. when i called them they said they couldnt tell me

well your ticket is currently worth about $300-vig- cost of 2 points. So maybe only 250. If you don't hedge at this point it's the same as betting that amount on cleveland. (counting as if you have that $250 in your hand.)

So it seems the reasonable thing to do is hedge the extra amount you wouldn't bet on clev.
By the way, I'm betting Cleveland.
