Why does Flacco get compared to Matt Ryan?

There is no comparison. Flacco is nothing but hype. They've been saying all year how they're neck and neck for rookie of the year... how? Wins don't matter when you have your defense to carry your sorry ass on their backs. The numbers and lost fumble that probably cost them the win speak for themselves and today was the vintage Flacco I've seen all season

Flacco is a solid 1st year QB but nothing special. I really liked Ryan coming out of college, thought it was a good pick. I think they will both do well. Especially with how good the ravens D is...

Both drafted in the same year, taking previously poor teams to winning records, both playing for rookie head coaches, one has a qb rating of 81 the other 92. Seems pretty similar to me.

Ryan against top 10 defenses this year. 51.0 completion %, 214 pass yards game, 2 td's, 4 interceptions, 1 win, 2 losses.

I think Ryan is better, but there is a comparison. Flacco has played a much more difficult schedule.
