It's pretty bad downtown, however just a few blocks outside of that area it's beautiful around the marina area.

Same way here. Have noticed alot more cops out lately and i believe crime numbers are dropping. Strange how that works.

can't break it down... city to city...

hell chicago, has 66 neighbhorhoods... that are all like cities within themselves.... Chicago has neighborhoods that are classier then most people have ever lived in...and Chicago has hoods that are more dangerious then most people have ever set foot in...

same is true for NO i'm sure.

But with Chicago and any city of its size, you are dealing with alot more VOLUME.....we have about 22 neighborhoods of about 1.5 million people that have been deadly killing zones for the since 1968........that's alot of volume and alot of history

New Orleans and Detroit are out of hand. Based on smaller population i'd take Camden, NJ or Chester, PA and be happy if they fell off the earth.

West Chester is beautiful and great, I'm talking about Chester alone which is sandwiched Parkside,Folsom,Ridley. I am going to dig around for the stats I saw but it has the highest per capita Rape rate in the country and is top 3 for murder and violent crimes. I will have to look it up to back up my word so take it with a grain of salt but its nasty there.

Comparison chart for Chester to Detroit. It was oddly fun to compare cities based on Crime I think New Orleans or Camden ended up being 1-2 in just about every category. Sickening.

There are beautiful, high income parts in Chicago. There are some awful parts too. The awful parts are probably more dangerous than that of any other city. You really can't compare by looking at statistics since they are skewed by the volume of people in the good areas.
