Falcons land RB Jackson: CBS Sports NFL Insider Mike Freeman has confirmed the Falcons have signed running back Steven Jackson. There were reports earlier this week that suggested he was close to signing with the Packers but it turns out they couldn't come up with the right deal for him. The Falcons had interest in a veteran rusher to replace Michael Turner, who flamed out in 2012.

greenbay was after him hard, i guess he thinks atlanta is a better team and more money

The Falcons have enough on offense. They need a stephen jackson on defense to stop somebody on short yardage.

Bad move, he won't get a lot of carries in that offense

Good deal for the Falcons. We will take Steven Jackson and any other player we can get our hands on.

I'm not sure how to respectfully say this but... IF you are a fan of a team that is bitching about this years free agency, realize this. The St. Louis Rams are one of the most struggling teams of this decade, especially offense. What little offense we had mustered in the past year to get a decent record has fled for other teams. #1 RB Steven Jackson.. gone. #1 WR Danny Amendola.. gone. Back to the start of the draft again next year!

But he will get buttload of TDs. He can't do worse than turner.

Rams keep sucking it up. They got daryl richardson who has promise, but got rid of danario alexander amedola gibson sjax and even rights to rg3. Fun.

nice deal supposedly its a 3/12 deal w/4m guaranteed. my guess its they take a very small cap hit this year, like 2-3m which leaves them room to add some defense.

I agree our offense will be shit, but we might as well get younger and cheaper at running back. Love amendola but he stays hurt. I think we need to build a great o-line. This would help a young running back and a qb that can't stay up right.

Confirmed. Saw the guy at a UFC fight in Vegas. Built like a brick shit house. Maybe a slight upgrade. Should get a lot of goal line carries.

Perfect fit for Jackson and Atlanta. I never saw Jackson in GB. Thompson doesn't throw money around at free agents.

Rams are definitely going to draft the best RB available in the up coming draft.
