They were hacking in the second quarter. THAT is something I have never seen before and was one of the main reasons for the high volume of free throws for Dwight. That's pathetic if you ask me for a team to do that so early in the game.

I respect Vyom's contributions, but Magic was playing Hack-a-dwight. Vyom is a numbers person and I guessed he just looked at the numbers. He missed the boat on this one.

The difference in this game was huge. Agree that its partially due to hacking dwight howard...but he still made 25 free throws. Now, lakers won by like 9 points. Remove half of those 25 free throws..and magic would have won the game.

yeah the 'hack a Howard' is a perfect excuse. If he hadnt been intentionally fouled refs would have called some phantom ones somewhere else. magic played the odds and lost. Howard hit like 65% last night, complete miracle. If he takes 39 tonight in Atlanta I would bet my balls he wouldnt make 20, probably not even 17.

Stern loves it that way he doesnt have to try and explain why Lakers are taking twice as many shots as their opponents when the Lakers take so many jump shots. He just lets the reasons why they took so many last night speak for itself. Saves him form having refs call fouls when Kobe takes some fade away bullshit when the guy was 3 feet from him.

where if the lakers made or missed the refs would have undoubtedly called a foul anyway, and let someone better at free throws than Howard shoot.
