If true, I've never understood these NFL trades, if your 6th round pick ever gives you the production that Boldin would, wouldn't that be considered a great success. Hell if a third rounder had Boldin's numbers last year, I think you'd be happy.

Yes, but you gotta question how much more Boldin has in the tank, and also take into account his ridiculously high salary. At least an unproven draft pick with cost pennies on the dollar compared to Boldin and has plenty of years to play and develop.

These trades happen because basically the team trading the player has no leverage. The other side knows that they want to get rid of the player and they will end up cutting him if they can't get a deal done.

Boldin's high salary + they are gonna cut him anyway = 6th rd pick.
