Asking my girls dad if i can marry his daughter in a few hours. Wasn't nervous at all, but I am starting to feel it. Anyone done this wanna give some advice? he ****ed up my plans he is throwing curve balls. im a fast ball hitter. I was going to take him to lunch and do the damn thing but then he was having lunch with his son and getting a hair cut. i think he is on to me, now i am waiting for him to finsih those things before i meet up with him. where the **** am i supposed to take him now? goddam, help

Make sure you gentlemen agree on the dowry. Get it recorded on some legal document. You don't want him to back out of the dowry after he finds out you are degenerate gambler.

This might not be true. While the overall stat is 50% of marraiges end in divorce this is greatly distorted by the number of people who marry 2 or more times. People who get divorced are likely to get divorced more than once. The number of FIRST marriages that end in divorce is much less.

i know a guy who proposed on christmas, and after a couple of months found out that she had cheated on him with her old bf, left her, took her to court to get the ring back and was denied because it was considered a christmas gift. was told that if it wasnt done close to christmas or her birthday, then it would be considered under a contract, and if the contract was broken then the ring could be returned.

hopefully your girl isnt a gutter slut and you dont have to worry about that.

I lived with my wife for a little over 2 yrs before I asked her to marry me. If you can't live with them then you don't need to get married. I did the same process I asked her dad 1st before I asked my wife. But her dad would do anything for me we are very very close. Gamble together, actually he turns in our bets to the bookie, lol he just puts it down double what I do. lol but yeah go have a beer and just relax it will all work out.

Don't know if I am to late to throw my opinion out there, but in this day of age just taking the time to address the father about asking her hand in marriage is a GREAT start. I am assuming you have been dating this woman for a while now, and have met and dined with her father in the past. If she is happy, he will be happy as well. You will do fine. The only problem is if she met you during a conjugal visit in prison or if she met you one here..lol. Either way, you will be fine. Enjoy the moment. You will be talking about it with your future wife in years to come.
