Wish him the best but was really hoping he'd stay for his senior season. Projected mid/late first round.
if he stayed he'd be a lottery lock

This is Gorgui Dieng, not jamal Mashburn. For Mashburn this would be ok. A joke for Dieng, might as well honor Chane Bohanon, Russ, and the unconscious shooting white guy too.

I guess you don't have to be that good to be honored on senior night anymore.

Other schools do this as well, and for what's its worth he's graduating early so in school terms he is a senior.

Tenn losing by 10 to GA really hurt them, and I don't think you're boys are going to get in. They have to beat Mizzouri and win 2 games in the SEC tourney to get imo. I don't see them making any noise even if they do get it. It might be better for the program to go to the NIT and make a deep run to build confidence for next season.
Louisville can go as far as anybody in the Tournament and are one of the favorites to win it.

Here's the thing you have Tennessee, Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Alabama all bunched together. The SEC tournament is going to separate who gets in and who's going to the NIT.
Although as of right now I think Tenn has slight edge over them 3. If I were you I'd be pulling against those 3 squads, and chances are you'll get a chance to play in in Georgia. I think Georgia is going to give UK a run tonight.

it is kind of strange to honor "seniors" that didn't stay and graduate, marquette didn't honor dwayne wade on the way out the door early

Jamal Mashburn was kind of the last on the "seniors" to get the appropriate send off that didn't stay and graduate. Otherwise its just a farce. a la Ben Howland and Shabazz Muhammad.

agree kid... loui when they are playin at top tier can beat anyone in the country... they slipped a few games but look like they have it back now... its all about whos hot at the right time when it comes to the tourney... hope ur boys make a deep run
tenn has talent and couzo has done a great job. if tenn can get in i think we can get through a few rounds... just dont know why they couldnt have played as good as they are now at the beginning of the season.

Every school everywhere has Senior night. Even if you walked-on, and never played a meaningful second of your life, you get honored as a Senior.
Part of the whole scholastic thing.

I follow that conference, this is definite down for SEC in basketball, Vols have improved since going to 4 guard system, they were pathetic at the start of the year.

But I thought the point of this thread was that the people being honored are in fact, not seniors...just leaving school early.

It was. A terrorist hijack attack was inevitable. Some degenerates wouldn't remember their names even it was in spelled in boxcar letters.
