For my thick skinned friend Pat Venditto
Follow up to what I was saying in this thread:

ALL 3 Tampa goals were scored by Quebec hometown boys, grew up as Canadiens fans.

    Lightning 3, Canadiens 1
    Scoring Summary:

Tampa Bay Lightning: Martin St. Louis (10:49 in 1st), Vincent Lecavalier. (12:03 in 1st), Martin St. Louis (SHG, 08:31 in 2nd)

    Martin St. Louis
    BIRTHPLACE: Laval, Quebec, Canada

    Vincent Lecavalier
    BIRTHPLACE: Ile Bizard, Quebec, Canada

Do you realize Tampa's best two players are from the Montreal area? They don't play in Montreal often, when they do they have alot of friends and family attend the game. Tampa was on a 9 game losing streak and their motivation was pretty strong, combined with "coming home" to Quebec gave them a big shot of adrenaline.

Montreal looked at the game as an easy win and weren't competitive, typical.

Handicapping games played in Montreal and Toronto is a little different than capping a game in Phoenix between Nashville and the Coyotes. Canadian kids grow up wanting to play for these teams, when they visit Toronto or Montreal they usually have many friends and family in attendance, makes a difference.

Well, Dan, they aren't a bad team, but they certainly aren't deserving of -260 when a desperate bunch of very good Quebec hockey players roll into Montreal wearing Tampa Bay Lightning uniforms.

There is more to capping NHL hockey than win loss records, there is certain relative info that may not show in a win/loss record but is very valuable when making a betting decision.

Tampa the other night was the best example of this I've ever seen.

I know that and you know that, but Pat don't know that. Maybe that's why he always loses.

For example, Red Skins ML is -295 this week. If patty said that was great play, he would get destroyed by posters. But since people don't know NHL as much, they think he might be right with montreal.
