When the hawks were shit ~10 years ago as a die hard blues fan id go to the stl-chi games and thered be no one there. Yeah I was living in Wrigley when they won. Place went crazy with people running through the streets and honking horns. If I didn't know better, I would have thought the Cubs won the World Series. These days it's trendy to be a Hawks fan with Vinny Vaughn making appearances and hot girls in bars wearing jerseys like they care.

Being from Chicago I can't blame newer fans from joining the team bandwagon. I mean the team's home games were not broadcast on TV in the Chicagoland area for YEARS. The team was mediocre and had almost no exposure. Things changed when old man Wirtz died and his son took over.

Hawks definitely became a bandwagon team around Chicagoland when they made their run a few years ago. All the non hockey hawks fans annoyed me. It died down but is resurging. I doubt many of the casual fans actually watch the games, just follow the win streak/playoffs.
