Store gift cards,a chancey ripoff?Kind of a lame gift anyway.Everyone does it.

It sounds like even store chains are going to be falling like dominos after the new year so maybe the gift cards will be worthless?Then some charge interest or make them null and void if they aren't used within a few months.It seems either everyone gives them or gets them these days.It's kind of embarrassing and lame to give someone a $50 Target gift card and you get a $50 Wal Mart card from that same person.

Lots of decent deals though where you pay $100 and get $120 at places like Old Country Buffet and a chain called Valentino's Italian Buffet.


A few years back when we could still bet with euro-English books I won a $100 gift card bet from Ladbroke's where I could transfer it into another persons name and I gave it to my gambling fiend brothinlaw and he was taken back by it like it was some wooden nickle or something.He never did use the thing.

I thought it was illegal for them to cancel gift cards if you don't use them by a certain date. I think when gift cards were first becoming popular they gave you typically a year but it was now illegal for them to do that. Maybe it's a California thing.

The quality of the gift card gift keeps dropping. Now a lot of grocery stores have whole racks of gift cards for stores and restaurants, so if a person waits until the last minute, they can just go into the grocery store Christmas eve and come outs with lots of different gift cards without any work.
