JJ Gold - a friendly gesture.
No lock, of course, but I certainly feel very strongly about Richkas hometown St. Louis Blues tonight in Los Angeles.

    I'm on this play big.

    St Louis Blues +145

    You're welcome.

VD, with due respect, Blues aren't very good, Kings are worse AND starting their backup tonight, St. Louis played well last night against Anaheim and are starting their number one goalie - Legace tonight.

I'll take the Blues over the Kings in this scenario 10/10 times.

I bet this game at Pinny (+151) Ladbrokes, Canbet and CRIS at lesser odds, but I believe the better bet is St. Louis tonight.

What do you guys like about StL today?

Kings just recalled Teddy Purcell, he is going to make the 4th line (which has been invisible all year) at least a potential threat out there, making the rest of the team more dangerous.

The Kings "backup goalie" has split time with Labarbera and is actually the better of the two. He had a bad game last time out but has been solid all season.

Not to mention the Kings and Ducks both play a physical brand of hockey, and back-to-back nights may not bode well for StL. All the same, GL.

I like them based on their aggressive play against a tough team like Anaheim last night, plus the Kings are slumping and have been sitting around for a few days.

Back 2 back games doesn't bother me one bit, I actually prefer it to teams sitting around waiting to play. I get the impression Kings players are a little too into the scene in LA and hockey becomes an afterthought. Just my opinion.

Betting the Kings as favourites is something I could NEVER do.

Purcell isn't a 4th liner; he's a top 6 scorer. I'm not sure where he'll be used tonight, but he will be one of 12 forwards out there that is a hell of a lot more useful than Derek Armstrong.

I know the Kings better than any other team in professional sports, I can name you every player as well as our top 20 to 30 prospects as well. There is value in St. Louis tonight at +150 for sure, but the Kings should win this game, and I believe they will.

THAT we agree on; I would not bet this game at all, and even agree with you that StL is where the value is. I'm just saying I don't think they will win tonight is all.

I agree I like the Blues tonight as well. They had won their last two going into last night and didn't play that bad a game against the Ducks. They had it tied with 3 minutes to go.

The Kings looked embarrassing on Tuesday against Colorado losing 6-1. It was like 5-0 like a few minutes into the 2nd period.

I should have mentioned everything you did, cause I was thinking along these lines.
The 4-2 final was much closer, an empty netter with 3.7 seconds left was Anaheims 4th goal.
I really don't understand how the Kings got to be so heavily favoured. Inexplicable.

There really is nothing to tread carefully about, got the better team, better goalie and better value (+151 & +145 etc).

Like I said earlier, I make this play 10 of 10 times the same way.

Of all the NHL games on the card tonight I liked this one best.

                                        Blues or bust.

I have a small play on STL. I had a larger play lined up, but backed off due to the Kings being very good at home, and St. Louis playing last night.

I have the under too. If the Kings win, the game is going over. So St. Louis and the under hopefully holds up.

Disagree with this... even with their lackluster goaltending, the Kings are still 13th in the league (6th in the West) in GAA. They also lead the league with fewest shots per game allowed. Terry Murray really has them playing good defensive hockey. No reason they can't win and stay under.

Also, at 11 - 12 - 4, I don't see how St. Louis is "the better team" at 12 - 12 - 3. If anything I'd say they are pretty damn evenly matched.

The Kings have scored 50 goals and given up 46 at home, and have scored 19 goals and given up 29 on the road.

What I meant was that St. Louis will be playing a close checking game (back to back road games), and if they win the game will tend to stay under. And with the Kings tendency to play a wide open game at home, if they win it will tend to the over.

I don't think I said the Blues were better, because I don't think they are. I had the line set at Kings -129, so I think there is value on the Blues.

I know the Kings better than any other team in professional sports, I can name you every player as well as our top 20 to 30 prospects as well. There is value in St. Louis tonight at +150 for sure, but the Kings should win this game, and I believe they will.

Being from the East Coast of Canada I have been following this kid (he's from Newfoundland) for the last 2 -3 years. He has the tools to definitely develop into a top 6 forward for sure. The kings will be the next Chicago blacks and or Phoenix Coyotes. They have a lot of young talent in their system.

If I were evaluating these two teams I'd give the Blues the edge as being the better team, regardless of win/loss records so far.

NHL is my bread and butter, I'm most comfortable with it and follow it closely, MLB is a very distant second, then further back NBA and finally NFL.

Actually, I can only handicap NHL with any success, know zero about football/hoops etc.

Hockey coverage is 24/7 in Toronto, there is definitely more information available to me here in Toronto regarding the LA Kings than in Los Angeles. That's a fact.

The NHL network is pretty solid for information. I like the live look-ins.
