Lesniak on New Jersey sports betting: SBR interview

New Jersey State Senator Raymond Lesniak joins SportsbookReview.com for an interview regarding the recent decision by US District Court Judge Michael Shipp in the sports betting case. Well it is shame for land of free people and leader of freedom to get patronized by the government what they are allowed to do with their own money. Go USA go!

That was a good interview with some informative information. I'm happy to see the Senator is still fighting and moving forward. Eventually they will win this battle.

I don't know why Jersey even tried. The circuit they are in already ruled on it after the Fed law was put in place decades ago. Judges rarely overturn something unless they are fiercely partisan and their party is 'all in' on an issue. Even then, it doesn't happen much at that level. Only way is to change it on the Federal level, which sucks.

I get the feeling the judge didn't want to be the one associated with opening up sports betting in the U.S. even though he didn't appear to be overly impressed with this law's existence in the first place.

Something a bit wrong with a legal system that puts it all on one guy's shoulders, and forcing him be the one to be remembered as the man who opened up sports wagering to the masses.

here's a link to the law:

read it enough, you will find a very famous politician's name in it
and I don't mean David Stern

But you know what happens if they lose the ultimate battle here? The Law as is becomes set in stone forever...so this is critical they don't screw it up

minarchism is not the answer. go full out anarcho-capitalist.

having "your guy" hold the ring will not work. Throw the ring into the fire.
