That's incomprehensible to me, Nicky. I grew up here, having to travel at least a mile to get to the nearest neighbor's house. I lived in Corvallis, Oregon to go to college and then up in Portland, but I always lived as far from town as possible because I'm not used to having people around me.

How do you deal with so many neighbors living so close to you? I don't see how anyone could get along with all the people that live on just the same floor as you.

I've never had to deal with an angry neighbor because there's nobody near enough to piss off. And if the cops come to my road I have at least 15 minutes advance notice because everyone on the road communicates via CB radio, so someone closer to highway is bound to see the patrol car and announce it on the CB. I guess parties with a half dozen 1,000W speakers just aren't in the cards for you, eh?

its funny because i would ask you the same question.. how in the world can you live in a place with 1,000 people. i'd go nuts.. i am so used to a busy city and lots of people.. montreal has about 4 million people and everywhere i go, it's packed, but i love it.. i am so used to it.. it never gets boring.. i grew up like this.. if i had to live where you live, i'd have a nervous breakdown.. when i come into my building, there are at least 15 people in the lobby alone and all 3 elevators are always packed. there are close to 400 cars just alone in the garage.. that's almost half of your whole population with just the cars in my building alone.. wow..
i dont mind the small town either, like those towns with 25,000 people and everyone says hi to everyone and there are small malls here and 4 gas stations, and 1 big wal mart..etc. but 1,000 in a whole city, i'd feel lost? I am liable to go into a depression..

wtf, I'm a farmer. I've also got a wood cutting permit from the State Park Department to take all the dead and diseased trees out of the forest for $10 per truckload. Considering it only takes me a couple hours working alone to cut and load the truck, and I can sell them for $200 a pop, I do alright. One of my neighbors is a butcher and I spend a lot of the summertime fishing, we trade a lot and it keeps the cost of living super low.

Nicky, I understand where you're coming from, totally. I have a lot of city friends and even when they plan to visit for a week, they never last more than three days. The only thing to do in town is the four screen movie theater, and it shows films six months after their release to keep costs down. Walmart is an hour away if you drive like a banshee, the only fast food is McDonalds about 20 minutes out. I'm sure you get the picture.

I'd literally flip out if I had to ride in a packed elevator, I don't deal well with more than three or four people in my immediate vicinity. College was the roughest experience of my life, I just barely made it through sane, it was such a culture shock. The biggest amount of people I see regularly is my church that seats 60 (usually half full) and I graduated third in my high school class of 118 kids. Quite a unique existence, eh?

i hate that casino. they dont serve alcohol and tough to get a drink there.. they have 2 cocktail guys for each floor serving 500 people.. i hate that place. no smoking either.. to smoke, you have to go outside in the winter and smoke in -56 degree weather.. (i dont smoke though) and all fukkin french.. i hate those french quebecois.. they annoy me..
