NJ lawmakers have passed the internet gambling bill A2578. The legislation has now moved to Governor Chris Christie's desk. Christie could decide to sign the bill today.

Christie conditionally vetoed the bill and asked for a number of changes, which were unanimously agreed upon, including raising the tax on casino winnings from 10 to 15%, a 10-year trial period for the legislation and more.

Under A2578, players present in New Jersey would be subject to electronic age verification before they would be able to play a game from one of Atlantic City's licensed casinos. It might be six months to a year before the games are running.

Let's see if this gets signed into law there. I think it could. I think someday they could be a hub for internet gaming in other states.
