Anybody Have There Christmas Tree Up Yet?

Yeah put it up, got a small one this year its fake. Not getting real one as going out of town for 2 or so weeks so dont want that risk when I am gone.

how big you going to get it? go for one of those huge 14 footers? although have to have vaulted ceilings but those are pretty freaking cool if you have the square foot size

6 or 7 feet. My ceiling is only about 10 feet. I buy mine at Home Depot

I have one ... and yes a real one ... believe it or not.

Its about 8 feet long

Yes, went up last weekend, newest cat around the house has already forced us to remove the ornaments that were hanging two feet or lower on the damn thing.

Im on the Gulf Coast in FL, and can drive an hour inland and cut one at a tree farm. LOL, having said that Ive put up our fake fiber optic tree a few days ago.

No Christmas tree for me this year, nor have I ever put one up. A Christmas tree doesn't fit in with my spirit of Christmas, and even though I don't have children, I don't think that would change my practices. I'm appalled at the commercialization of this holiday, purchasing a tree under which to place gifts that represent little more than a reinforcement of that ethos seems wrong.

The Christmas tree, in fact, has nothing to do with the Christian tradition, it being a relic of the old pagan tradition of honoring the Winter Solstice. I freely offer what I have to those around me, and make a special effort to assist the needy during this time of year. That's my observation of the Holiday season.

I also grew up in the forests of Northern California, and so have a unique appreciation for the benefit of the Earth's evergreens. To encourage the needless farming of them to supply a market which is artificially created to engender the purchase of gifts to place beneath it,...just rubs me the wrong way. I support those who choose to carry on this tradition, but also hope they understand the underpinnings behind it.

Roman Catholic, actually. I was an altar boy in my youth, and filled in as cantor and organist at St. Mary's when I was in college in Corvallis. Even spent some time at Mt. Angel Monastery discerning a possible vocation to religious life.

Well, to each his own. Perhaps I'm guilty of overthinking things, but I prefer that to the alternative. I find, for myself, that life is richest when truly analyzed and held to an intellectual standard. I begrudge no one their experience of life and, as I said earlier, wish everyone happiness and health throughout the year. Sorry if I ruined your Christmas wet dream.

Went to Home Depot, there trees were all dead. Found a fly by night stand they has a Flock tree for 52.00 I bought it. Best looken tree I have seen in years.

My 13 yr old helped me put it on top of my expedition. Got all decorated and looking realy nice.
