Well, he's definitely amazing, but Joe Mauer is the MVP by a mile in my opinion.

Mauer´s average has dropped 20 pts and my guess is that it´ll keep dropping. Seasons are tough on catchers. I also think Minnesota will cool down and miss the playoffs.
But he´s had a great year, we´ll see who wins it.

I know what youre saying but they should drop the freakin rule if they are´nt ready to give the guys credit.
Besides Mauer I think all both other candidates are DH´s. (Hafner, Thome,) Well maybe Wells but... longshot.
I think it would stink if Papi keeps it up and gets overlooked just for the fact that he´s a DH.
I think he should have won it last year...
He plays better D than A-rod anyway...

Well, if a DH is ever going to win it, this would be the year. I strongly support Mauer, perhaps because I played a little catcher in my past, and even at the low level at which I played it, I know how it affects the rest of your game. For him to have put up the offensive numbers he has, while catching a pitching staff that has shown marked improvement, is quite enough for me.
But, if the Twins miss the playoffs, and no one goes on a huge run, I wouldn't have a problem with Fatass winning.

With the type of clutch hitting he has been displaying on a regular basis, he would have to break his leg in August for the MVP race to even be close. It's a runaway at this point. If the season ended right now he'd get 80% of the first place votes.

I think David Ortiz alone has me in the hole for the year. I went back and looked. I have been on the opposite side of every one of his game-winning HRs.
David Ortiz....I loathe you. I have given a name to my pain and it is called David Ortiz.

If his numbers are way above anyone else, there's no reason why he shouldn't get it. If he's only on a par with a full everyday player, you can understand why he wouldn't get the vote.
But he's a machine - the way Cleveland had a meeting before he got up to bad and then the first pitch he got in the strike zone went flying.
At the moment, Ortiz might - just might - be hotter than Barry Bonds.

Im going to send David Ortiz a bill for lost wages. That fatass is always killing my bet. And when Im on the side of the Red Sox, he goes 0-4 with 2Ks or somesheit.
