    Are pleasers profitable?
Instead of taking +3 or +3.5 dogs in the NFL on the ML why not just please them 6-7 points and take them at -3, the payout is huge, and if you think they can win, why not by 3?

Anyone have numbers to support this?

The short answer is that if they're done properly, then yes.

i hit a 7 team teaser this past weekend, my first one ever. paid a little better than 3:1. I think they can be profitable. I dont like taking them to across 0 though. i liked it better when i was taking a 14 and a half point underdog and making them 21 and a half. how can an nfl team get beat by 22? well they nearly did, but still!

if u pick ur "locks" and tease them they work great. for instance: your patriots lock lost for you this weekend, they did not cover. your patriot lock however was part of my teaser so they covered for me

There is a reason so few books have them available

Three is such a key number in football that I wouldn't Please from +3 to -3 ever, especially since ties lose in pleasers. I would think you'd do better pleasing huge college favs or dogs and very large totals (if allowed). Also pleasing between 7.5 and 13.5 may be profitable because 10 is the only decent # in the range. I don't have the research to back all this up; it just seems logical that these situations would give you the best shot at avoiding being burned by the 6 points you're giving up.

i would have to disagree Hedgehog. With regards to teasers, teasing through the zero is a bad idea because you 'waste' the points on numbers that mean very little. On the flip side, I would imagine that Pleasing through zero is a good idea because you use the points on numbers that mean very little.

                Where is Justin7?

Pleasing thru the zero in Basketball is a sound idea, but I can't see it FB because of the importance of the 3.

6 out of 8 NFL road dogs Sunday a week ago (week 13) would have won in a 6 pt pleaser. The average margin for these 8 dogs was +10.86 pts (plus the spread). This is rare; and not very useful unless it could be predicted.

I have played a few pleasers over the last 2 years, and I have found them profitable. I tend to use them with OVER/UNDERS in football.

NFL Pleasers on sides are a losing proposition. There are ways to profit from them, but not with this method.

If your book has good odds, pleasing high totals can win.

Teasers in college football are profitable at huge spreads and totals but books with pleasers may limit the line.

Anybody know some good pleaser books for totals? I feel totals would be much easier to beat (ie last night MNF pleasing the over was easy money)
