Opinions of whether this bet should have been cancelled
    4) BET ID=XXXXXXX
    Straight Wager 07/31/06 10:16 ET
500.00/454.55 (paid 500.00) Result: No Action
    Nationals(Washington) (Astacio)
    Giants(SanFrancisco) (Lowry) 07/31/06 (22:15 ET)
    Over 9

Basically, it's San Fran / Washington Over 9 -110, bet at 10:16 AM EST today. Many books had Over 9 -115 at the same time. Intertops, as I type, STILL has Over 9 -115.

I'd be hard-pressed to find a justifiable reason to cancel it.

It's not a huge bet, and I won't be much worse for wear by going to Intertops and betting it at -115, but it's a dangerous precedent for books to be freely allowed to start cancelling stuff like this, stuff that is nowhere close to being considered a "bad line".

Nope, just the book believing that they can justify calling this line a "bad line".

They accepted it originally and then decided to cancel over 5 cents?

        Bullshit, **** them.

If you don't mind me asking, who was it?

From the way the betting slip is laid out it looks like the book is probably one of the SportingBet family of books ?

How did you find out that is was cancelled? Do you recheck your wagers through the day or something, or did you just come across it while you were looking at something else? I've never had a wager cancelled, and I'm wondering how I would find out.

It looks like a bet from www.sportsbook.com.

Well if it is a member of the SB family doing this then their promise of 'doing things right in the future' in the meeting they had with Bill a few days ago did not last long

When you log online to see your balance and notice that it's the same as before you placed the wager. Believe me, they don't tell you Ortho!

I had this out with Fred from MVP Sportsbook (SBR D-), who couldn't care less. He referred me to their terms and conditions where there was a bullshit clause. The Greek (SBR A+) did exactly the same too I recall, although they were a lot more polite about the matter.

It's kind of ironic but just like someone always answers the phone whenever you dial a wrong number - I don't think any book has ever cancelled a losing wager.

Looks like either a Sportsbook.com family book or Royal Sports.

What a great idea ourbet. If this is the way they want to play it. Any line move or any different numbers out there anywhere from now on voids a losing bet, LOL.

I'm here to assist players in their disputes. If the player would like assistance with this dispute, feel free to email either assistance@sportsbookreview.com, or me at justin@sportsbookreview.com. While a 5-cent discrepancy hardly sounds like a fair reason to cancel a bet, I'd still want to hear the other side's position on the matter before casting blame.

Oh great, you're going to listen to both sides?! This isn't what we wanted at all. I thought you were a lawyer but it turns out you're a judge. We don't need SBR watchdogging the players.
