if anyone knows a way i can get a dog, hire someone to walk it for me 4x a day, and where to get one to do this, i would be so happy.. i have no patience also to train him, pick up his shit and so on.. i dont even know how.. i can't pick up his shit, it's gross.. i'd love to have a dog, but i have a hard time taking care of myself.. how can i go abouts to getting one and not having to go through all this.. i need to walk him 4x a day and i can't leave my screen, and it's -44 outside here.. this really bugs me, because i'd really love a dog. i wish i knew what to do.

One of them climbed onto the bed last night and flopped on my broken foot. I'm not finding any of the three very cute today.

matty, i dont know how to train a dog.. he could pee and shit 345 times here and i still would not know what to do.. i can't hit him. and for me to walk him 4x a day is hard. i live in a big building and it takes me 5 minutes to make it down with elevator and all.. and then come back up.. what if a big move happens in basketball, i need to be there. and i wake up at 11am.. it's not fair for the dog to not pee from 1 am till 11 am.. 10 hrs.. then when i wake up, i go on pc.. now i have to leave it all, put on coat, go outside for 13 minutes and walk him in the -36 weather. and what about when he hasn't gone out in 8 hrs and now the Habs are on tv, you think i wanna leave the game and go out? very tough to have a dog..

isn't there a way i can pay a kid 75/week to come here and walk him for me 4x a day? i wish i can find one? i doubt it exists.

Yeah, that's much harder. I'm in the same situation, though the dog was trained way before I moved in my 21st-floor apartment, and he's not the active kind. I wouldn't train a puppy here, that's for sure. You'd have to carpet the elevator floor with newspaper before letting the dog in.

Maybe you could convince a neighbour's kid to walk your dog twice a day. And I hear that some small dogs can be trained to do their business in a litter box, like a cat.

Conclusion: get a cat.

I grew up with dogs and I love dogs however I have a cat at the moment - and she definitely does not want a dog.
