      Me too, salcy.. big time.

The only one i'd pay big money to see would be my montreal canadiens of 1976-77 who broke every record in the book by going 60-8-12 vs The greatest Edmonton Oilers team of 1983-84.. wow.. this was a great team with Gretzky.. one of the best.

      I'd make it

      MTL (1976-77) -145
      EDM (1983-84) +125

If only i can see this.. the greatest team in MTL with Guy Lafleur and that great D... Vs the explosive offenseive Oilers and gretzky.. if only i can see this, but no way it can be done.. the players are like 55-60 yrs old now..

would be great to see some of these games...

but comparing different eras is tough... especially in football...

even with the steelers vs pats line...

        tihnk about it..

most of the steelers linemen... weighed about what the pats lb's weighed..

the steelers lb's weighed what the pats db's did.. and the pats would be faster at every position...

hard to compare greats from one era to another... the sport evolves, changes, the gene pool increases, the number of kids starting and specializing in a sport and going to summer camps for that sport every year from the age of 12 are going up every year... medical technology, advances in nutrition, supplementation, steroids, masking agents... new training techniques... every see the way troy polomalu works out?

back in '85 the fridge was humongous.... now he'd be small and need to pack on size... plus he'd still be too fat and not strong enough... times change fast

        in 2025 we'll have 270 6'5 lb's running 4.35 40's

you're 100% right, archie.. the best example would be to watch those baseball games on ESPN classic of 1971.. each player was a walking broom stick.. 6'4, 169 lbs.. no muscle tone.. today's baseball players are built like trucks and cut, too.. they are like machines, as opposed to 1971 when they had no muscle and very narrow shoulders.

also, i watch NHL games of 1972 on ESPN classic too and it's so funny how those players were all tall and lanky..no muscle tone and very skinny and very very slow..

today's players are built like steel, muscular, cut, and they skate soo fast, compared to how the game was so slow back then.. today's slowest player is faster than back then's fastest player.. it's incredible.. watching a game back then is like watching it in slow motion compared to today. skates are now made lighter, equipment is lighter in weight, goalies equipment is better.. all the goalies back then like ken dryden were 6'5, 184 lbs.. and looked thin with hardly any equipment.. today, they cover the whole net with their equipment and appear bigger. boy, has sports changed.

                Miami Dolphins ('07) -3.5
                Detroit Lions ('08) +3.5

There's a game everyone wants to see.
