After I laid those bets on The Dodgers, Yanks/Minn over & the rays I decided to walk down to the Mirage to redeem a free buffet that my Dad gave me. On the way down the crowds started to swell & it was tough making my way down the strip at my usual quick pace so, I ducked into Caesar's to see if they had any Limit games running.
They didn't.
I took a seat at the $1-$3 NL game with $200. I waited patiently & after about two rounds of the puck I finally picked up hooks. The player from Manhattan who was sitting immediately to my right raised 6 bets.
I thought about calling for a few seconds but, then realized that I am the short stack at this table & Manhattan in particular had me covered 5x. So I shove & he rolls over cowboys. I roll over my jacks & he claps & says "yeah!"
Wouldn't you know it, Jay flops a a Swinging Johnson & my set of jacks held up.
I go onto a sort of lock down mode for the next 45 minutes & finally get dealt jj again when someone in early position raises 7 bets. I moved all in again after a 3rd player calls preflop & they both folded & I took down a small $65 pot. Now I was sitting with $440 & decided to update everyone at SBR.
Sadly nothing that eventful happened after that. I was dealt JJ 3 times after that for a total of 5 times but I never had to show them down.
After another 2 hours & 12 crown & Cokes later I count my chips & I have exactly $404. GreenHippo tells me to get outta dodge & Manny concurs so, I get up, say good bye to this really nice guy from Edmonton, who took Manhattan's seat & tell this kid from LA, "I hope you enjoy the fight at Mandalay Bay tomorrow night." & make my way towards the cage.
Anyone who has been following this thread can probably guess that I didn't quite make to the cage. I saw this:
11 blacks in a row....well if you don't count the greens.
So I put $100 on Red & the dealer hits #6. I'm fummig & reload another $100 & he spins #24. I don't know if it was the Crown Royal or the thought of losing my Poker profits but instead of pressing to $200 I only bet $100 on red & he hits me with a #5.
Was a little twisted when I started walking back to the apartment & saw this:

So, I dumped $100 of the $204 profit I made in the poker room but, I'm heading over to the HRH as we speak to collect $160 from the sports book. Maybe more I'd those ponies hit.

How do you get such unknown extended leave from work? Can you basically just go back to work whenever you get back home? That's a sweet deal if so.
