Outstanding Idea. They can't make church services. They thank God Almighty for what he has done and for keeping them safe. I love it.
I always make sure my son sees that part.
PERFECT THING TO DO KOBY

I don't mind it.
As with any religious beliefs, I could care less what anyone thinks or does...I just don't want to hear them tell me about it.

I think it is great that people express their religious beliefs, just as long as it isn't harming anyone and they aren't shoving it in my face.

I'm agnostic and rather anti-religion, but I have no problem with people doing what they want to do. I naturally think praying is peculiar because of my own thoughts, but my opinion on others doesn't usually get in the way of that.

I think it's good. Brings the team together despite what everyone believes. One team, one heartbeat.

Many come from broken homes, where crime, drugs, and mischievous sex is commonplace.

I hated it when the teams I was on in high school did it but as long as the players genuinely believe in praying then no one should have a problem with it

Nothing like having a nice prayer session after a game of trying to rip another guy's head off, then going home, shooting some steroids in your ass, beating up your wife/gf and then doing lines.
Yeah, Jesus saves.

So, let me make sure I understand the premise of this. The creator of the universe interrupted her day (I'm guessing she was kind of busy), to come down to the planet Earth and make sure that one football team was better at smashing, pounding, hitting, and tearing up other humans than the other team, even though the other team was praying too, so she had to pick which side prayed better or something.
And now, since the creator of the universe blessed this team with ensuring that they won, they are now praying to thank her for making them commit violent acts on their fellow humans better than the other team?
Is that the premise?

What I don't understand is NASCAR prayers before the race. We are basically asking God for too much when we give 43 guys 1000 hp and 200 mph 2 ton machines with the whole purpose of driving in 300 circles around a concrete wall trying to knock out each other out of the race. I think God has more important things to attend, like helping the sick or hungry, than making sure noone dies in a crash.

Are you saying that I have misunderstood the logic of this thesis?
1. Football is violence.
2. The creator of the universe is supposed to be the epitome of love.
3. A football team praying that they can inflict violence better on their opponent to the creator of the universe (who is the epitome of love) is illogical.
4. Praying to thank the creator of the universe (who is pure love) for helping them to inflict violence better on their opponent is illogical.
Have I missed something?

Got to wonder what the NFL would do, as well as the media, if a few players pulled out their mats and bowed down facing Mecca to pray to Allah?

Isn't this what the Pakistani national cricket team do before the games? Thank God we don't have cricket in the US.
Willie will the Muslims in the US face east or west since Mecca is about the same distance from either direction if you are in the West Coast.

Towards Mecca, but on a round world that can be East or West.
