BETTIE PAGE, Top 1950s Model, Near Death

Bettie Page, around 80 now, suffered a heart attack and is reportedly in a coma.

Page was one of the top pinup models in the nation in the 1950s. She did all kinds of nude shots, including some bondage, which was what the movie a few years ago (THE NOTORIOUS BETTIE PAGE, starring Gretchen Moll) was about.

Later, Page suffered mental illness, went through seveal failed marrianges, and converted to Christianity. In recent years she has been seen at autograph signing sessions (her signature briings about $200 to $300), and an occasional guest at the Playboy mansion parties. (Hefner used her pics in an early Playboy.)

Page has a devoted fan base. I once found an original (in a rental property I was cleaning out) from the 50s Page photo, and sold it on eBay for almost $200.
