My Gambling is out of control, thoughts on how to reel it in a bit
I was having a great season. Up about $8,500 for year. All of a sudden I lost $6000 since Thanksgiving. I'm making dumb bets, going against my first instincts, and wagering way over my head. Any ideas on how to slow down a bit? I make around $95,000 a year. (Not bragging because I have hardly anything saved and rent) What should my limits be?

No one bet should be more than 3% of your bankroll and you should NEVER count your income as part of your bankroll. And if you have no savings you shouldn't be gambling period.

I find getting sex slows down the gambling virus. This explains why I gamble all the time.

Yes, he should find a girlfriend who is very needy and she will obsess over him and he won't have time to gamble. She won't let him gamble anyway.

Robert, I know what type of gambler you are. You will not be happy or satisfied until you get your $6K back. Here's what I recommend you do for a start: take your remaining $2,500 and go all-in a lock play. Not a STUPID PLAY, a LOCK PLAY. The NY Giants are a good place to start.

You're on a consistent lossing streak and your life will be torn apart unless you get an immediate boost. Once you win your lock, BE HAPPY AND BE PATIENT. Count your lucky stars and be man with a plan. However, you need to go all-in as soon as possible to get yourself back on track. If your all-in play loses, take stock of what you did wrong, take some time off, and then reload later with a plan.

Why do I advocate an all-in play? Because you have made mistakes with your self-discipline and it is unlikely, given your current mindset, that you will rebuild your roll in a responsible manner. You need the immediate boost to get your mind right! If it loses, you can look at yourself in the mirror and confidently say "I went down with my balls intact, not as a whining lamb." Man the battle stations, boy! Embrace your destiny, go all-in and then buckle-down with self-discipline!

disconnect the internet is the only way for me to reel it in a bit.

In all seriousness you just need better money management skills. You have +2500 and now you can't bet more than 50 a game and don't bet any silly teasers or parlays. Use your head and be smart. Your income has NOTHING to do with your gambling. It may mean you can afford to lose more than others, but that's about it. You need to review how your losing and look at the bottom line.
Look at it this way. Your up. Now don't be dumb. Cap right, cap now and get value. Pretty simple. That is how most of us long term winners continue to bet day after day year after year. I'm not sure I've more than 2 days in a row off in 4 years but still making the dollar work. Now get to work and good luck, although sportsbetting has little to do with luck.

Son your a compulsive gambler and need to stop now or your life is ruined.

                      You have 2 options

                      1. Kill yourself to avoid all the misery with gambling
                      2. Get help and go to GA

I have a hot Asian obsessive girlfriend. Like so hot, if I posted a picture, you guys wouldn't believe me. I've been with her for 5 years so it's not a big deal anymore.

You have an Asian girlfriend and she didn't throw an absolute fit when you lost $ gambling? I know how women think. She would have wanted that $31,000 for shoes and other essential items.

Not that my wife would let it get that far, but if I lost anywhere near that kind of money gambling my wife would freakin' kill me, before she tortured me.

its not the $ that my gf cares about... but the amount of time capping/watching/checking on scores..... but the only thing keeping her from going from annoyed to really pissed is that I've had some great winning streaks and cashed out, and I limit my losing, avoid chasing and going on tilt. So i've never lost enough to make a difference

I made it up. You're an idiot. Like it's cool to lose 30G. If I was going to lie, it would of been about winning 30G. I was able to lose that amount of money because I lived in my parents basement, until recently. Also not something to brag about. The only reason I brought up my girlfriend was because someone posted that if I had a girlfriend I wouldn't gamble so much. Which is not true. I was just looking for a little advice. Holy Shit!

Bet all you can on Arizona minus the number. The Rams are horrible.

                                                    Thank me later.

The Jets were a good bet but they didn't show up today. Robert, sometimes the breaks don't go your way. I still advocate an all-in play for you, before your bankroll gets any lower.

I'm making dumb bets, going against my first instincts, and wagering way over my head. Any ideas on how to slow down a bit? I make around $95,000 a year. (Not bragging because I have hardly anything saved and rent) What should my limits be?
