Which Jinx Is Worse.. Nicky Santoro Or Pat Venditto?
I think it's gotta be Pat Venditto by a mile.
Pat takes the word loser to a whole new level.

I'm the biggest jinx in boxing EVER. In the past 3 big fights, the piece of shit overrated buddy mcgirt throws in the towel in the 11th round on his fighter that was NOT hurt at all and cost him millions in future moneys, and me in several units. then old ruggid vet Verno Phillips quits on his stool going into the 10th round with a needed over 9.5 and cost me a couple of units. 2 easy bets. And now today... De La Hoya comes in like he was trained by a ****ing moron, sitting there at 14****ing7 during fight time, fighting so shot that he would have been BRUTALLY KO'd by Marquez or even Casamayor. Luckily Froch won today or I'd seriously not consider betting my main sport again. Weird. Maybe there's such a thing as knowing too much in boxing these days. That was hilarious except for anyone like me that put money on that shit. Although the people that think Pacquiao has overnight developed the skills to beat Mayweather, heh. Keep smoking crack. If that was 35 year old Marquez in there tonight he'd of gotten screwed out of yet another decision against Pac

If I were to issue you an infraction it would be because of your mis-spelling of the two words above that are in bold print.

Nicky Santoro told me that my college football success was a fluke, and that I'd finish the season at .500.
I didn't have another winning week after he said that, for the last 5 weeks of the season.
When he wishes losses upon you to prove his point, they seem to come. Hope you are happy Nicky

you know you're still my buddy, right? sorry man..
but look, i was right.. when you were at 57% and flying high, i told you you'd end at very close to 50% no matter what, and you are now at 50.8%.. and just barely over 50% for NFL.
Vegas dave, i'll give you a piece of advice buddy.. first off, i have never met anyone who knows so much about college football than you.. you blow my mind. i dont know how you can keep track of all this.. but here is the pointer. even with all you know, you'll still end up at 50% and lose money.. gambling is not about how much you know about sports, but it's all about numbers and trying to always get the best line.. forget about knowledge, put that aside, it won't help you.. i proimise.. and when you finally do have enough money to gamble, DON'T GAMBLE.. continue to do this for the fun.. because you will just work for nothing.. enjoy your cash and watch sports for the fun only and dont ever put a red cent on it. i am sure many posters will read this and wish they took that advice many yrs ago when they made their first bet. .alot envy you for not gambling real money and making it as a hobby.

Of course we are still buddies, I don't believe in jinxes, my luck just ran dry.
But at least give me props for my NFL season so far. Granted, I'll probably lose the last 3 weeks now that you mention it, but you say I am "barely over 50%"... 52.9% is ABOVE the break even point at -110. Capping every single NFL game, even ones with little to no edge, I've managed *to this point* to actually have a record above the break-even point. 3% over 50% may be "barely over", but it is enough to profit.
And my best bets are over 75% this year and over 60% over the last 4 years.
I have a looong way to go in college, but you have to at least give me somewhat of props for pro so far this year.

No such thing as luck. You make a decision and you live or die for it. Picking every game on the nfl card is a recipe for disaster.

dave,
i give you props because dollar for dollar, you are doing better than 94% of gamblers that bet into the real line..
but this is how we will do it.. i will combine your records for both sports and pretend you have 1,000 in every college and nfl game this year.
you'd be 164-151 in both combined sports
that means that at -110 at 1k a game, even though you are hitting 53% in 1 sport and over 50% in the other..
you'd still be down money at -2100 dollars..
not bad, but even though you are having a good year, you're still down over 2k.. it's too tough to win the way your doing it.. but had the book gone 164-151... you'd be down 29,400..
now is this fair? you're down 2100 and if they have identical record as you.. you are down 29,400. so both ways you are down.. it's just too hard david.. too hard.. They make close to 15x more than you with same record..

I honestly like Dave and what he brings to the forum but don't believe that picking every game is an indication of how he would do. You win some you wouldn't wager on and lose some as well. The pressure isn't there and I feel he would have a better indication on how he would do if he would have a seperate thread listing the plays he would feel safe laying money on. This is in no way a put down or bash of Dave.
He is passionate about sports and provides good info to the forum that many appreciate and I respect quite a bit.

Thanks for the kind words Diogee...
My philosophy picks are my best picks and the ones that I would be betting the most on obviously, and at 16 - 5 needless to say they've had unreal success this year.
But I appreciate this feedback and next year I'm definitely going to be adding that to my picks. I'll still write-up every game, but just like I currently indicate certain picks as "philosophy picks", I'll indicate "best bets" or something, which will give a much better indication of how my favorite plays are actually doing.
