Yeah and Fla Gulf Coast beat them too. They had no Reggie Johnson and didn't even grab 20 boards total against Zona. That game doesn't reflect either team at the moment, IMO.

They didn't have Reggie Johnson (for all intents and purposes) when they smashed Duke.

Arizona pulled its starters with about 3 minutes left in regulation. At that point, Arizona had been beating them by ~.45 ppp. I don't want to get into how insane a margin that is.

Point being, there is no player on earth, not even Reggie Johnson, that can make up for a .45 ppp by himself.

I find it ridiculous to even consider Miami a legit contender and completely ignore Arizona. Same kind of mental gymnastics from earlier in the year when everyone was crowning Florida world beaters (to include myself).

Anyways, stoned nerdy numbers and a slight rant aside, I truly have no clue how Arizona is laying -13.5 later tonight.

I understand where you're coming from, for sure. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see Zona make it to the Final Four and Miami exit early. At this point, just from my "eye test" I like Miami and Arizona has disappointed me. That's all, we shall see what happens in the end, the only team I feel confident in making the Final Four is my own.

When we see the brackets it'll be easier to tell but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Arizona lose in the round of 32 or 16. Not a chance they make the elite 8.

In reality though, we played our worst game of the year against a rival who can't play in the postseason, was at home, hit a ridiculous percentage from 3 and this was their National Championship as seen by their comments and celebration together during the post game interview and we only lost by 8. This sky isn't falling for Syracuse, Michigan got smoked by a rival on the road. Oh yeah and a team that UConn beat.

problem is, that the Big East sched and BE tourney are such a grind that I think a larger proportion of BE teams get bounced from the dance early because they are run down.

Big Cuse fan but they have no offense. Cooney still can't hit a 3 to save his life, Christmas hasn't matured at all offensively, Southerland looks rusty, and with other teams focusing on Triche and MCW they are getting run down and not getting good shots. I don't like our chances this year but we have a solid squad and with no dominant team they are good enough to win the tourney if they get hot at the right time.

CJ Fair is still an animal. Most underrated player in the BE.
