if only they'd ask just hockey questions.. i swear i don't think i'd ever miss one. i must be like 29 for 29 lifetime in SBR trivia hockey questions. but when i get asked NCAA or NFL, it's time to either start guessing, or it's google time, and i must be quick.
On a side note, i kid you not, here was today's 60 pt question. (if only i could get more like these)
What do American football players wear on their head?
Nothing
Sausages
Helmets
Pillows.

SBR Trivia Question
My third question was:
How many members of the 2004 Red Sox had previously won a world series?
I chucked a dart and guessed 4... the answer was two. However, I googled it (after I missed the question, was curious) and found that the answer should be four.
Kim, Mendoza, Schilling, Timlin.
Kim and Mendoza did not play in the 2004 World Series, but they were still on the roster if I am reading this correctly.
Do I have a legit complaint here?
BTW, I like CS Northridge -1 tonight.

believe it or not, hockey is breaking all sets of numbers this yr. people said they would boycott the yr on acct of strike, yet NBC are breaking records in ratings. ratings are up 50% from last yr and all local markets are up so much. almost twice as many americans are watching NHL than last yr. there are like 12 teams out of 30 in NHL who get better ratings for their team than their NBA teams get. Even the hawks in chicago have 3x as many viewers as the bulls this yr. STL, PIT, BUF, DET, CHI, and many more are seeing incredible local tv ratings this yr.

I think its because the season is shorter...not as many games to follow....the majority of hockey fans are done caring--going and watching game after game, by February anyways....theses games now have more meaning

this is where i disagree with you. NHL is better than NBA in this category. in NBA, there are so many bad teams and only a handful of good teams that have a chance of winning it. MIA, OKL CITY, and maybe a few others and maybe 26 teams who have no chance. Whereas in the NHL, anyone can win the CUP. except maybe a few teams like COLUMBUS. much more parity in the NHL. just look at kings last yr.
Also, not only is NHL breaking records in tv ratings. they are averaging 1,000 fans extra per game and getting an avg of 98% capacity at the arenas. the NBA is not even close to that this yr. but you're right, it's probably because of the short season. games mean much more now.

I totally agree with your NBA statements, however all the players are talented in the NBA...In hockey you have too many players that should shouldnt even be in the league....the NBA just has all the talent on particular teams.like you said,,MIA,OKL CITY.....
If this season had its usual 2 months of "useless" games the fans start to feel like they have no hope if their team has a bad record....with this short season, it has people paying attention to what other teams in their division are doing...usually something the average hockey fan simply DOES NOT DO...I know they love the ticket sales, local promotions ect...but I feel OVERALL in the LONG RUN everyone would benefit from a shorter season....when is the last time you saw a HUGE regular season game in hockey....a game that was season changing...been a long time...I hate to Keep going back to the Jackets ( I live in Columbus ) but people come and go with ZERO passion for the team...its just something to do....if Chi or Det is playing in Columbus, youll be confused what city your even in....I dunno I guess you can't please everyone.....6 or 1/2 dozen sir....I mean I would LOVE too see Hockey played with NFL like intensity....NO LOSE mentality....Penalty minutes being big....people actually on edge...rather than not caring one way or another because.."we wont get past detroit" anyways...

there is 100% some fat that could be cut from the league to make it more competitive overall

So, even though the SBR answer was technically wrong, it's considered whining? Seems pretty shady, but then again that's typical SBR lately.
