That's tough. I don't know what to say. My first reaction was he should try some more conventional job-search strategies but apparently he already has and it didn't work.

I give him some credit for trying this approach. Better than sitting at home feeling sorry for himself. Looks like he is getting some attention so maybe it will earn him a break and turn out to be very smart.

Is he really a victim? It sounds to me as though he's been unemployed for quite some time. He certainly could have figured out something in the time being, albeit a position he may have been highly overqualified for, until he finds a suitable employer that has a position available which matches his qualifications. I feel far more sympathy for the families who are living paycheck to paycheck when they lose their job. They don't have the time to pull off this publicity BS. They need to find a job immediately.

There are plenty of jobs out there...they are just not as desirable to him as a toy company executive. I have sympathy, but many are in the situation they are in because they live far beyond their means. Stop using credit cards and use cash. Stop buying houses that are way out of your income bracket. Stop trying to impress everyone with fancy gadgets that you can't afford. Now is the time to be practical.

Tell him to send a resume to creditwagering or rebatewager. He can put their logos on his sandwich sign and make a living. It worked for Richkas.
