#16But why can't they just put a little nest egg away? Is it really so hard to put $5 mil away in like a money market account and just say "that's for a rainy day and I'll never touch it unless absolutely necessary?"

#22People from the hood dont trust banks or white people. Haha. I dont feel a ounce of sorrow for these nba players but 70% of americans live paycheck to paycheck so can you actually say your any better? Most will have rebutals consisting of " well if i made millions of dollars...". Im sure when you moved into your first apt making 20-30k u got by just fine. As you made more money you spent more. People tend to consume 105%. Im a good saver but if i was out of work for 3-5 years( about how long it takes avg athlete to go broke) i'd be hurting too.Comment -

#29Loved Iverson as a player, but I have no pity for someone who burns through millions, has too big an ego to take a job playing basketball, the only profitable skill he ever had, because he had deemed the opportunity as beneath him, and then finds himself out on his ass due to poor money management and general stupidity.
If the D league is beneath him, I wonder how he'll feel when he's flipping burgers trying to pay child support.Comment -

#32They get paid millions and are free to spend it as they wish then go broke...white man's fault
They are required to have an advisor who curbs their car collecting and bling buying...modern day slavery the white man keeping them down

#33Why does someone with $200 million income gets a mortgage? And since he bought the house for $4.5 million and only owed $1.2 million on mortgage why didn't he sell it before it was forerclosed and downsize and pocket the cash? I swear these professional athletes are dumb.Comment -
