Not too bad a loss last night. Nino should only be down one unit due to the great line he got on the Washington game. I nearly got that line, but when I finally selected it it degraded to -105. So I lost 1.05 of a unit.

these are admittedly extra-good odds (that's why i keep a LOT of books ready in my stable...u never know where the bargains pop up...greek is usually crap for hockey...but when i went shopping for Ducks lines just now...they rang the bell for both parts of the play...I'll put on the ML part wherever is best for that/and ditto for the PL part...it's quite rare that i put on both parts of a -1 handicap at the same book...-1 is kinda' like a peanut-butter sandwich...don't have to buy both parts at the same store)
even if i had to settle for more run-of-the-mill odds, you can see that the two plays (off the shelf "-0.5reg" and do-it-yourself "-1 PL")...are definitely in the same ballpark price-wise...if i did both parts at dimey...it would have come out quite close to the -119 they're selling the reg-bet at now

A -1 PL bet is not the same as a -0.5 regulation time bet. Suppose that your team wins by one goal in regulation time. Then a regulation time bet would win but a -1 bet would push. Basically, on the roll your own:
if your team wins in overtime or Shootout, you break even.
If your team wins in Regulation by only one point, you again break even.
However, if you team wins by more then one point (which can only happen in regulation) you win both bets.
Of course if you team loses, you lose.
Now if they tie might be a bit interesting. Your ML should push, yet your RL-1.5 would lose. In this example, you would lose 45.25. His roll your own is effectively PL-1 except in tie situations which don't happen very often. Even then its better then a non-roll your own PL-1 as you should get some of the money you risked back, where in a non-roll your own, you wouldn't.

Love this card, boys. After another slow start to the month, let's get back to the winning ways. Two 2u plays which I believe are justified by the stats. Not going to post every angle here, but the Wild struggle on the road when they travel west and play the Pacific Division. The Wild are 4-1 this year at home against the Pacific Division but are 2-5 on the road against the Pacific Division with all 5 losses occurring in regulation. The Wild were big advocates in the NHL realignment for this very reason.
With the Red Wings there is not much to say. They own the Coyotes and own Jason LaBarbara. There will be more Red Wings fans than Coyotes fans at Jobbing.com Arena tonight. The Coyotes just traded away 3 grinders that epitomize the style of Coyotes hockey. The Yotes just told everyone that they are sellers and are not expecting to make a run deep into the playoffs.
Riding the wave with the Capitals. Ovi and the offense are clicking and Holtby is playing well as of late.
