I would love to know how coaches decide to foul or not foul at end of a game

last night wvu down 5 with about 20 seconds left,

shoot a 3 miss, ball bounces around and kansas eventually is able to dribble the clock out..no fouling


tonight... boston college makes a basketball to go down 10 with 10 seconds left,

coach for bc calls time out, and then fouls unc to lose by 12.. knowing there is 0 shot to win

doesnt make sense....


it didnt effect game or 2nd half spreads either

Huggins is a drunk who has given up on coaching, I assume BC's coach was using it to teach his players for the future.
