I decided to try BetJam, but have an issue
Well, after researching books for more than 5 days straight, I decided to give BetJam a shot at my business after evaluating a lot of the other books, but of course I ran into a roadblock from the get go.

Almost everyone seems to have great things to say about BetJam, so maybe someone could clear this up for me. I signed up, provided the necessary documents so I could use my Debit and /or CC so I could get the ball rolling. I then made my first deposit and received a message that I needed to call customer service before my deposit is authorized. The customer service representative now tells me I can't use my debit card or CC if it's from a major or popular bank. Here's the part when I get confused...according to their website it states, "Deposit directly into your BetJamaica account using a credit card, pre-paid credit card, gift card or debit card." So what's the story... I have impeccable credit so the banks I use are only major banks and financial institutions. Their website should state that they only accept Debit/CC deposits from customers who have horrible credit and only use bottom of the barrel banks, eh. Furthermore, I have never been asked for my password over the phone by anyone I do business with, yet she told me that’s their policy. I did, however, provide the password, but I was not comfortable with it. Does that not sound strange to anyone else? So, can someone using BetJam explain the Debit/CC problem to me since their website advertises incorrect information and perhaps is unclear?

My only objective here is to find a reputable book, who accepts Debit/CC, and pays their customers within a reasonable amount of time. Why is this difficult? I feel like I'm dealing with a bunch of Surf Sites now.

The problem is, some of these credit cards are trying to stop us from gambling, it's hit or miss sometimes.

I can tell you though, I've have been playing at BetJam for over 3 years now and NEVER had an issue. You need a backup book to compliment your arsenal though....Matchbook is my choice.

Might have to Western Union that 1st deposit to BetJam.

** or ** then...there is a difference between Citibank and Washington Mutual...that's what they mean in terms of banks being popular or not nto a matter as to whether they'll extend you credit (obvious in the case of Citi).

I do realize that most financial institutions do block gambling sites, but it only makes sense that these gambling sites use company names associated with their payment processors that do not reflect the nature of gambling. It's not difficult and a lot of sportsbooks do this from what I have read and heard so their customers do not have deposit issues.

Btw, Matchbook was going to be my first choice, but I read recently on SBR that their payments were begining to be late and so are WSEX payments which come from the same financial source. Your thoughts? Do they still accept Debit/CC?

Your card being declined has absolutely nothing to do with how good or bad your credit is. As JBC illustrated, funding sportsbooks with Chases/Mastercards and the like are hit and miss with more miss these days.

I’m not trying to be abrasive, but why is there such a disconnect here? Here is the excerpt from my original post…

“My only objective here is to find a reputable book, who accepts Debit/CC,…”

Although I appreciate all the suggestions from you guys, I don’t want to be bothered with alternative deposit methods.

spoon banks are smart , even with a processor name they still no its gaming related, cc's are hard to process id recommend using a middleman for cc deposits as said with a ******** card or a secondary processor , as i told you be4 5 dimes is the best and 70% of all gaming transactions are done via western union or moneygram, its a simple process

Granted there's a bunch of payday loan places a couple miles from my house, but the total time it took to get my account funded from the first time I logged onto BetJM until the moment my account was funded was about 90 minutes flat.

Speaking of, I just got my first check from them this week. It arrived in 3 business days and the teller at Wachovia didn't even flinch when I cashed it.

You can use your debit card to fund a ** transfer online at the ** site. I get Fed Ex cashiers checks from Bet Jam in less than 24 hours. Its that simple.

@ UntilTheNDofTimE: I’m guessing your suggested method (as well as MoneySportsGuy and blittydeuce) might be the only funding method available if I want to use a reputable book. Since I only used my street bookie and Sportsbook.com on a small scale and never had an issue with deposits I assumed this Debit/CC thing would not be an issue for other books. However, my assumptions are incorrect and I guess I will have to adapt. Like always, UntilTheNDofTimE , I appreciate all your feedback. Thanks, man!

I have used BetJam for over 2 years now, and I always send my $ with ** or Moneygram. If you send more than $300, they refund your fee for the service. I know you said you wanted to use credit/debit cards, but they seem to be such a hassle on online gambling sites. Don't be discouraged by this turn of events. BetJam is a great site.

Ive been with them for about 5. Nothing comes as easy as it use to. I have issues getting my NS card to go through from the website. So, I now have to call customer service and they get it to go through. As far as regular credit cards or debit cards its basically the law that they block these transactions. BetJam is the best if you live in my territory. The other books take 3 days or more to send a western union or you have to wait for weeks for a money order or check to clear.

Call an ask to speak with Scotty Johnson.....He's the head guy over there, and will take care of you. If they say he's on the other line, you will just have to try calling back every 15 mins or so..... But ask for him. He's a classy guy, and will make things right...... and easy for you.
Thanks for the contact name. I called Scotty as you suggested and he's an alright guy. I spoke with him for about 20 or so minutes and we worked things out. He also gave me his direct line just in case any future issues arise.

                                                    Thanks!

Does anyone have Scotty's direct email? I used to have it but lost it.
